That is 3.3% of the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation area. The rules allow red and white wine, based on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Regional bedrock: carbonate sedimentary rocks. It lies 3.4 km north-west of Chagny and 20 km north of Chalon-sur-Saône.
